Zen Holiday, LLC (“Zen Holiday,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) makes Petlook, a pet care calendar and reminder app for iPhone and Apple Watch, and runs this website, petlook.pet. Petlook is built on the same promise as everything we make: no data harvesting, no dark patterns, no clutter. This policy describes honestly what information is involved, where it lives, and the choices you have. By using Petlook or this website, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

The short answer: almost nothing. Petlook is built so that your pets' information never reaches us.

Information you give us

• Support email. When you write to hello@petlook.pet, we receive your name, your email address, and your message.

Information that stays with you

• Your pets and their care. Names, photos, breeds, birthdays, weights, care cards, schedules, logged walks and meals, contacts such as your vet, notes, and any records you attach. Petlook keeps all of it in its own storage on your iPhone and copies what the watch needs to your Apple Watch. Widgets and Live Activities show it on your Home Screen and Lock Screen, on your device. None of it is sent to us.
• Your household. If you share with family, your household lives in your own iCloud account. See section 3.

Information collected automatically

• In the app: nothing. Petlook contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking code and no third party SDKs. It talks only to Apple's own services, such as iCloud, the App Store, and the link between your iPhone and Apple Watch, and to nothing else.
• Crash reports. Only if you choose to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may share anonymous crash logs and usage statistics with us, as described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
• On this website. petlook.pet is served by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and basic request data, such as your browser type and the page you asked for, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. We don't keep logs of who visits; Cloudflare shows us only overall counts, such as visits per day.

Information we do not collect

• No accounts. Petlook never asks you to sign up or sign in.
• No payment information. Purchases are handled by Apple.
• No advertising networks, and we never sell or share personal information.
• No location history. Petlook uses your location only while you track a walk, on your Apple Watch, and it never comes to us. See section 4.
• No Health data. Petlook can save walks to Apple Health, and it never reads anything from Health.
• No access to your photo library or your contacts. When you add a photo, a file, or a contact, you pick it in Apple's own picker, and Petlook receives only what you picked.
• The camera only when you take a photo of a vaccination card or another record.

2. How We Use Information

• Your pets' information is used only by the app on your devices: to show their care, schedule your reminders, make the PDFs you ask for, and sync with your household if you turn that on.
• Support emails are used only to answer you.
• Website request data is used by Cloudflare only to deliver the site and keep it safe.

We do not use any information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose not listed here. We will never add you to a mailing list.

3. Sharing With Your Household

Household sharing is off until you turn on iCloud sync in Petlook's Settings. When it's on, your household is kept in your iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit, and Apple lets your devices know when something changes so everyone stays up to date. People you invite can see and change the household's pets, cards, and logs, and the entries they log show their first name. We have no access to your iCloud data.

You can leave a household or turn sync off at any time in Settings. Leaving keeps a copy of everything on your device. You can delete Petlook's iCloud data from your iPhone's iCloud storage settings.

4. Apple Watch, Apple Health, and Location

When you track a walk on Apple Watch, Petlook saves it to Apple Health as an Outdoor Walk with its route, distance, and active energy, if you allow it. Petlook only writes to Health and never reads anything from it. The time and distance in your Petlook log are measured by Petlook itself, so nothing read from Health is ever stored in iCloud, and the route stays in Health.

Petlook uses your location only while you're tracking a walk, from Track until End, including when you lower your wrist. It never uses your location at any other time, and it doesn't keep the route.

5. Reminders, Photos, Files, and PDFs

Reminders are scheduled on your device with Apple's notification system. Which reminders you get is your choice, kept on that device only.

Photos and documents you add are stored with your pet's information. PDFs you make are created on your device and go only where you send them.

6. Cookies and Tracking

petlook.pet sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising, or third party scripts of any kind. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary cookie to protect the site from bots. The Petlook app does no tracking, as defined by Apple or anyone else.

7. Third-Party Services

Petlook relies on a few services, each with its own privacy practices:

• Apple: the App Store, iCloud and CloudKit for household sharing, Apple Health, and notifications (Apple Privacy Policy)
• Cloudflare: hosting and protection for this website (Cloudflare Privacy Policy)
• Migadu: email for hello@petlook.pet (Migadu Privacy Policy)

8. Purchases

Petlook Plus is sold through the App Store, and Apple's privacy practices govern that transaction. We don't receive your Apple Account, name, email address, or payment details. Petlook only checks with Apple whether Plus is unlocked on your device.

9. Children's Privacy

Petlook doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children. The age rating is shown on the App Store listing. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has sent us personal information by email, contact us at hello@petlook.pet and we will delete it promptly.

10. Data Retention

• Your pets' information stays on your devices and in your iCloud account until you delete it. We never hold a copy.
• Support emails are kept only as long as needed to resolve your question, then deleted.
• Website request data is kept by Cloudflare under its own policy. We keep none.

11. Your Rights and Choices

Because your pets' information lives with you, you're in control of it. Edit or delete any entry, card, or pet in the app at any time; turn sync off; and turn off Health, location, or camera access in your device's Settings whenever you like. Deleting the app removes its data from that device.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights under privacy laws, including:

• California (CCPA and CPRA): the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete or correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, and we will never treat you differently for using these rights.
• European Union and UK (GDPR): the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to processing, and to data portability, and the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We handle support emails to answer your request, and website request data to keep the site running safely, both on the basis of legitimate interest.
• Everyone: you may contact us at any time to ask what we hold about you, or to correct or delete it. We will respond within 30 days.

12. Data Security

• On your iPhone and Apple Watch, Petlook's data sits in its own storage, protected by the encryption built into your devices.
• In iCloud, Apple encrypts your household's data in transit and on its servers.
• This website is served only over HTTPS, loads nothing from anywhere else, and has no database or login to break into.

No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but keeping your information off our servers entirely is the strongest protection we can offer.

13. International Users

Your pets' information stays on your devices and in your iCloud account, wherever Apple stores it. Zen Holiday, LLC is based in the United States. If you email us, your message is delivered through our email provider and read by us in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

14. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, we'll post the new version here and update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll also make reasonable efforts to let you know, such as a note in the app's release notes. Continued use of Petlook or this website after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
